Preparing For The Next Dive


This is an illustration of a Lockheed P-38 Lightning – P-38J-15-LO “Virginia Marie”, from 5th Air Force, 433rd Fighter Squadron, 457th Fighter Group, Piloted by 1Lt Carroll Anderson in 1944.
The P-38 was one of the most important fighters over the Pacific on the WW2 and its 2 powerful engines were capable to climb fast to attack on diving. In this illustration, the enemy aircraft was a Japanese bomber called G4M Betty.
